Bolivar Peninsula/Crystal Beach (Galveston, TX)

If you’d like to off-road with the beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico in the background, the Bolivar Peninsula and its Crystal Beach OHV area. ATVs, UTVs, and motorcycles are permitted here on the beaches, but not on the sand dunes or in vegetation.

Rio Bravo MX Park (Houston, TX)

In Houston, you’ll find this off-roading oasis dedicated to off-roading enthusiasts, specifically those who love dirt bikes. Built in the 1970s, Rio Bravo MX Park offers a variety of great tracks and trails surrounded by trees and grass. You’ll need to check ahead for ATV riding, but dirt bikes are typically permitted during all open hours. There are camping areas so you can stay the night if you’d like.

Sam Houston National Forest (New Waverly, TX)

This incredible natural wonderland allows dirt bikes, motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs, so you can ride pretty much any type of powersports vehicle here. The forest is open year-round and it hosts 85 miles of multiple-use trails that include sand, mud, creek crossings, and hard-pack dirt.
